New for summer 2023!
Iro's Residence
Agios Konstantinos is an authentically Samiot coastal village half way along the island’s north coast, a 15 minute drive from Kokkari to the east and the town of Karlovassi to the west. It is not touristic and holds great appeal for walkers, as the beautiful Valley of the Nightingales starts nearby, which takes you up the mountain to the traditional villages of Manolates and Vourlioti (other trails go on from there).
Iro’s Residence is without question the place to stay. The hotel is run by the young and charmingly welcoming siblings, Konstantina and Konstantinos Saklas, who cannot do enough for their guests and who strive for high standards in everything from the quality of the breakfast to the Wifi in the rooms. Although a 3 star hotel, in many important aspects we think it is more like 5 stars!
The 11 rooms are all on the first (top) floor - there is no lift - and recently refurbished (2021) to provide very comfortable, modern accommodation. All rooms (bar one twin) possess a king-sized bed, bath with shower above, and a balcony with side sea views over the village or swimming pool. Amenities include A/C (small local charge - normally only required during the hottest periods due to the cooling sea and mountain breezes here), room safe, good Wifi, smart TV and hairdryer.
The ground floor houses public areas - reception, bar, breakfast room - and to the rear a spacious pool area. The large freshwater pool measures 7m x 13m (depth 1.30m to 2.90m) with steps in. Pool towels are free of charge and snacks can be served from the bar.
The village has a small pebble beach to either side - one with a good taverna and sunbeds - and five good authentic tavernas as well as a couple of snack bars and a mini-market. Buses run along the north coast and there is a choice of some fine beaches en route to Kokkari.
If you are looking for the real Greece you should find it here!
